Title Insurance Rates

Title Insurance Rates

In Florida, title insurance rates are set by the State and are called promulgated rates. All title companies must follow these minimum rates based on the purchase price of the property. Standard Issue Rate: Up to $100,000 = $5.75 per $1,000; Over $100,000 = $5.00 per $1,000. Example: A $200,000 purchase = $1,075 in title insurance premium.

When Do You Qualify for a Discount (Reissue Rate)?
You may qualify for a reissue rate (discounted premium) if a title policy was issued within the last 3 years, or if you are refinancing a property that already has an owner’s title policy, and the property has not had major improvements. Reissue Rate: Up to $100,000 = $3.30 per $1,000; Over $100,000 = $3.00 per $1,000. Proof of the prior policy is required.

Who Pays for Title Insurance in Florida?
Who pays and who chooses the title company depends on the county and the contract. In most Florida counties, the seller pays and chooses the title company. In Miami-Dade, Broward, Sarasota, and Collier counties, the buyer usually pays and chooses the title company.

Who Chooses the Title Company?
Typically, the person who pays for the Owner’s Title Insurance chooses the title company, though this can be negotiated. Choosing the right title company helps ensure on-time closings, fewer surprises, and a smoother experience. With PRONTO TITLES, you close with clarity and confidence.

Is Title Insurance Transferable?

Documentary Stamp Tax (Deed Transfer Cost)
Most Florida counties charge $0.70 per $100 of the purchase price. Miami-Dade County charges $0.60 per $100. Example: $250,000 purchase = $1,750 in most counties and $1,500 in Miami-Dade.
